Machine Learning (ML) Senior Specialist

Peraton seeks a Machine Learning (ML) Senior Specialist to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with DCO AI Cyber Security Support.  Location: Fort Meade, MD.  In this role, you will design, build, and deploy machine learning models and pipelines within Caspian and JCRS-D environments, ensuring scalable and reproducible ML operations. You will operate as part of the Data Science Team.

 

 Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement ML pipelines using DevSecOps/CDSO framework
• Build, test, and deploy models within Caspian and JCRS-D platforms
• Create algorithms to identify threat patterns and forecast risk
• Implement MLOps practices for model versioning and monitoring
• Optimize model performance and scalability
• Collaborate with data engineers on production deployment

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.

• Expert proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)

• Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker)

• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with distributed computing (Spark ML)

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for ML

  Must have AWS/Azure ML certifications
• U.S Citizenship required
• DoD TS with ability to obtain/maintain SCI clearance

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• 12 years of specific experience
• Certifications (Kubernetes)

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
