Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our Cyber Mission business unit located in Annapolis Junction, MD. The team supports multiple products that automate manual tasks, enabling mission customers to focus on higher-priority operational challenges. The team employs Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to deliver high-quality, reliable software solutions.

 

This position is based at Peraton’s National Business Park (NBP) office with flexible work schedules. Telework may be available based on tasking and customer approval.

 

As a Systems Engineer, you will lead end-to-end systems engineering efforts for complex, software-intensive systems—translating user needs into system requirements, CONOPS, and high-level architectures while guiding design, integration, verification, and lifecycle planning activities.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze user needs and develop system requirements and specifications
  • Draft CONOPS and define high-level system architectures
  • Lead requirements analysis, trade studies, feasibility assessments, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)
  • Participate in and guide system design, development, and integration activities
  • Plan and conduct system verification and validation efforts
  • Develop and assess system integration and test plans
  • Advise stakeholders on technical approaches, risks, and alternative solutions
  • Interact with Government customers to resolve technical issues and ensure mission alignment
  • Collaborate with program personnel and Government overseers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
    • Additional 5 years of SE experience may substitute for degree
  • 20+ years of Systems Engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience leading Systems Engineering efforts
  • Experience developing SOA-based solutions
  • Strong background in lifecycle systems engineering, trade studies, and risk management

Desired Skills

  • Scripting or software development experience
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and integration patterns
  • Knowledge of cloud-based solutions (AWS)

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
