Data Scientist, SR

Peraton seeks a Data Scientist to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with DCO AI Cyber Security Support. 

 

Location: Fort Meade, MD.  In this role, conduct data analysis, develop analytical models, and create visualizations to support DCDC mission requirements and cyber defense operations.

 

 Primary Responsibilities: 

• Perform exploratory and diagnostic analyses to reveal trends and anomalies
• Develop and test ML models for threat detection and risk scoring
• Create data visualizations and analytical reports
• Support data preparation, transformation, and quality assurance
• Collaborate with data engineers on model operationalization
• Document analytical methods and findings

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD

• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL

• Experience with ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy)

• Data visualization skills (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)

• Understanding of statistical methods and data mining

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• U.S Citizenship required
• DoD TS clearance with ability to obtain/maintain SCI 

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Data science certifications

• Master's degree preferred in Data Science, Statistics, or related field (Bachelor's degree required)

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
