Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Defense Mission and Health Solutions Sector, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) team. The BSA will serve as a part of an Agile team developing enhancements to the Medicare DME claims processing system. Our teams follow SAFe agile/scrum practices, responsible to create technical design deliverables, develop new programs, enhance existing programs, build unit test plans, test cases, and test data and execute those tests.  The Business Systems Analyst will provide applications development and maintenance support to the Medicare DME, the system utilized to process DME claims. This position requires a motivated individual with healthcare and Medicare claims processing experience.

 

This role is based out of Windsor Mill, MD. Depending on candidate's location, this role can be worked fully remote, hybrid or onsite.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Devises and/or modifies procedures to solve technical problems. 
  • Creates detailed specifications/requirements for program changes.
  • Work with technical team members to build requirements into program changes
  • Creates and execute detailed Testing Plans. 
  • Provides expertise in the formulation of systems scope and objectives relative to the business plan and industry requirements.
  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems.
  • Works independently or as a member of a project/Agile team responsible for providing technical guidance related to the business implications of the application of various systems. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 5 years with BA/BS; 3 years with MA/MS
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance. 
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical and analytical requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile.
  • Excellent communication (written & oral), and collaboration skills; comfortable interacting with engineers and other BSA. 
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare IT and understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
  • Experience with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) or Federal Healthcare Programs.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of CMS processes and standards.
  • Experience with DME, Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, or Medicare Common Working File (CWF) specific processing systems

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
