Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Architect to work in the Stuttgart, Germany area.

 

What you will do:

 

Cloud Strategy & Migration

  • Lead EUCOM’s enterprise cloud vision and roadmap alignment with mission objectives and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Assess readiness and deliver actionable cloud migration strategies.

Architecture, Design & Optimization

  • Architect secure, scalable solutions across IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, including hybrid/multi-cloud.
  • Select and integrate services for compute, storage, networking, identity, and data platforms.
  • Create reference architectures, reusable patterns, and design artifacts (e.g., CAMEO).
  • Engineer for high availability, disaster recovery, global resiliency, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging services and technologies.

Security, Compliance & Accreditation

  • Embed Zero Trust, identity governance, and encryption strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with NIST, FedRAMP, DoD Cloud SRG, SOC 2, and organizational policies.
  • Define secure-by-design patterns and support RMF/ATO documentation and audits.
  • Collaborate with DISA J9 to deploy theater-wide cloud capabilities.

Governance, FinOps & Standards

  • Develop and enforce policies for cost management, tagging, resource provisioning, and lifecycle.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and maintain standards.
  • Guide landing zone design, guardrails, and multi-account/multi-tenant structures.
  • Drive cost optimization practices.

Connectivity & Data Considerations

  • Design secure hybrid connectivity (e.g., private links, secure network interconnects).
  • Address data residency and sovereignty constraints for EUCOM operations.

Collaboration, Leadership & Mentorship

  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and CDAO data teams to deliver solutions.
  • Mentor junior architects and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide architectural oversight during implementation.

Documentation & Communication

  • Create architecture diagrams, decision records, and technical documentation.
  • Present complex cloud concepts to technical and executive audiences.
  • Promote organization-wide understanding of cloud capabilities and constraints.

Qualifications

 

What you will need:

 

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD or 9 years of experience in lieu of bacholers

• Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred).

 Required Certifications: DoD 8140 compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS/Azure Architect certifications).

• Expertise in Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).

• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Tools (CAMEO or similar).

• Strong understanding of Zero Trust, Identity Governance, and Encryption Strategies.

• Familiarity with DoD Cloud SRG, NIST, FedRAMP, and compliance frameworks.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex cloud and security challenges.

• Willingness to stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and trends.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
