Join Peraton's mission-critical team supporting secure, real-time data delivery across complex operational environments in direct support of our nation's warfighters. If you are driven by national security and energized by cutting-edge C2ISR capabilities, sensor integration, and resilient data transport solutions, we invite you to join our team.
We are seeking highly cleared professionals who excel at the intersection of advanced communications infrastructure, distributed systems, and mission assurance—where reliability, security, and performance are paramount.
Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared SATCOM Specialist (NE) - Senior to support this mission at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
As a SATCOM Specialist (NE) - Senior, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include:
- Serves as a lead technical expert in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex network infrastructures for C2ISR SATCOM Transport Systems, ensuring high resilience and performance.
- Leads the architectural design and deployment of highly scalable and secure SATCOM network segments, incorporating advanced routing protocols, multi-domain network segmentation, and secure data paths for C2ISR mission data.
- Oversees the integration of diverse SATCOM technologies (e.g., GEO, MEO, LEO, commercial/military SATCOM) into a unified C2ISR communication infrastructure, defining interoperability standards and network interfaces.
- Conducts expert-level network engineering analysis for SATCOM systems, focusing on throughput optimization, latency reduction, and resilience against environmental or adversarial effects (e.g., rain fade, jamming) using advanced simulation and modeling tools.
- Develops advanced network engineering solutions to address complex SATCOM communication challenges, such as implementing Software-Defined Networking (SDN) principles for dynamic bandwidth allocation or designing secure cross-domain solutions over SATCOM.
- Drives the maintenance and modernization strategies for SATCOM assets and ground-based gateways, including evaluating new modem technologies, waveform enhancements, and network management systems.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple high-impact SATCOM network engineering assignments, guiding junior and journeyman specialists, and contributing to the strategic expansion and optimization of global C2ISR SATCOM infrastructure.
- Utilize the following Role Tools: Network engineering platforms (SolarWinds, NetScout, Cisco DNA Center Elastic Stack, ACAS); SATCOM monitoring and acquisition tools (Satellite Acquisition Manager, L3 Harris SRVT monitoring, ViaSat hub portals); Protocol optimization and interoperability testing platforms (BGP/MBGP/MSDP/BFD routing simulators, IPv6 multicast testbeds); Latency measurement and QoS optimization tools (p95/p99 latency trackers, edge computing performance monitors); Cloud orchestration and sustainment tools (Azure Arc, AWS Console, milCloud 2.0, Grizzly Cloud 2.0,); IL5 Landing Zone, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, virtualization with VMware/Hyper V); Cross domain solution monitoring (Everfox High Speed Guard dashboards, CDS compliance trackers); End to end visibility dashboards (AI assisted anomaly detection, service dependency mapping, mission impact scoring); Engineering deployment kits (Tactical Relay Kits, RGEP/IGEP installation toolsets); COOP readiness systems (VPN token management, alternate site readiness trackers, SOP/QRC libraries; Model repositories (Cameo, Sparx, System Architect, Jira, wiki); Network diagramming software (Visio, Lucidchart); Service Desk and Change ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy); and Configuration management tools (Git or SVN Ansible, Terraform, CMDBElastic Stack, ACAS
