Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared Systems Engineer - SME to support this mission at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina 

Responsibilities:  

As a Systems Engineer - SME, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include: 

  • Provides leadership for on-site systems engineering support functions across the Task Orderestablishing overarching goals and strategic plans for optimizing the C2ISR Transport Infrastructure systems. Leads activities to transition to modernize engineering practices, digital engineering frameworks, and emerging mission systems technologies 
  • Directs and controls the strategic design, development, and implementation of advanced on-site engineering solutions that address emerging communication challenges and mission requirements. 
  • Possesses expert domain and technical knowledge in C2ISR systems, complex technical problem-solving, and deployment methodologies, applying this to define and drive the technical roadmap for maintaining robust operational readiness. 
  • Has overall responsibility for establishing and implementing innovative approaches that ensure continuous system uptime and minimal disruption through proactive and reactive on-site engineering support. Provides training on integrated C2ISR workflows, data flows, and cross-platform dependencies 
  • Engages in high-level client negotiations and interfaces with senior management regarding the strategic vision, capabilities, and resource allocation for advanced on-site engineering support. 
  • Utilizes expert domain knowledge and decision-making that has a critical impact on the overall project implementation, ensuring all on-site systems engineering solutions enable continuous mission-focused technological adaptability and effectiveness. 
  • Directs and controls the methods and staffing for systems engineering teams, ensuring delivery of high-impact, scalable, and resilient on-site solutions that optimize C2ISR system performance. 
  • Provides authoritative guidance on all aspects of system design, integration, and verification, including advanced troubleshooting for complex C2ISR hardware and software components. 
  • Establishes and governs the architectural principles, tools, and platforms for all systems engineering efforts, critically impacting the reliability, resilience, and operational effectiveness of C2ISR systems. 
  • Shapes the future direction of C2ISR systems engineering for the Task Order by pioneering new techniques, research, and advanced deployment models, directly impacting mission success and national security. 
  • Utilize the following TO Management & Financial Tracking Tools: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate); G Invoicing API; ASSIST portal integration; variance analysis dashboards; MS Project; Primavera; GFP management modules; WBS tracking systems; ServiceNow; Jira Service Desk; automated RIP/CTP/TAR workflows; SharePoint libraries; Confluence; Microsoft Search; lessons learned databases; video library repositories; Archer GRCeMASS, Archer GRC; internal audit portals; Excel/SharePoint audit templates; CMDB with version control; Power BI with R/Python integration; Tableau; predictive analytics engines; Teams; Azure AD role based access; mobile access via Power Apps. 
  • Utilize the following Role Specific Tools: Systems Integration Lab (SIL); Tri Domain Lab (IL4/IL5/IL6 enclaves with VRF routing, FIPS 140 3/HAIPE crypto, PTP/GPSDO time sync); Golden Test Packs; Test Readiness Review (TRR) frameworks (test matrix, golden data hashes, SLO compliance charts, rollback plans); CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI/CD, DAST, Jenkins, Azure DevOps); automated deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform); automated testing frameworks (Selenium, pytest, JUnit); security scanning tools (SCAP, Nessus, SonarQube); performance testing tools (Apache JMeter, LoadRunner); monitoring dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana); bug tracking systems (Jira, Azure DevOps); documentation repositories (Confluence, SharePoint). 

Qualifications

Required qualifications: 

  • Previous experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience with a BS/BA degree or 10 years’ experience with a MS/MA or 7 years’ experience with a Ph.D. 
  • A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level 
  • US citizenship is required 
  • DoD 8140 role for WRC: 451; Element: IT; Work Role: System Administrator; Proficiency Level: Advanced / Ability to obtain

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment. 

Work Environment:  

  • Location: Pope Army Airfield, NC 
  • On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking 
  • Travel: May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
