Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a UI Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Join our Strategic Innovation Center in Herndon, VA and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile.  You’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment that allows you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains.  You’ll work in an Agile software development environment supporting requirements/story development, software architecture and design, software development, and unit/component testing. 

The initial project assignment for this position will be supporting an Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) project where you will be responsible for the UI design, development, and implementation of leading-edge AI solutions. You will work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design, develop and deploy innovative UIs for AI applications to customers across intelligence, defense and civilian agencies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience working as a UI software engineer
  • Experience working with front-end technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS, along with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, JQuery, etc.
  • Experience with UX design, user-centric design concepts, and accessibility.
  • Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience with professional software development practices, such as source code management, code reviews, and testing.
  • A demonstrated ability to pick up new programming languages and technologies quickly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, responsible team-player.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with front-end testing tools, such as Cypress, Jest, and Selenium
  • Experience working with back-end technologies such as Java and Python, especially for the development of APIs, web services, and web applications
  • Experience with AWS development, including EC2, API Gateway, etc.
  • Prior experience working with DevSecOps processes and tools
  • Prior experience providing technical leadership to a team and/or mentoring to junior personnel
  • Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
