Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to:

 

  • Support the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) enterprise-level hybrid cloud data center engineering, operations and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Enable USMC world-wide customers to execute critical missions.

What you will do:

 

  • As an Infrastructure Engineer you will enable network and storage capabilities for secure cloud infrastructure operations. 
  • You will engineer, design, plan, implement, operate and sustain the storage and networking infrastructure to support hybrid/multi-cloud operations including Software Defined Data Center/Private Cloud operations, Backup, and Storage as well as cloud integration, and fully native cloud environments. 
  • You will ensure successful and secure operations of a multi-cloud on-prem and cloud-hosted enterprise capability supporting worldwide USMC customers.
  • Participate with the Infrastructure and Operations teams to enable networking capability for a hybrid-cloud environment including representing network and storage teams on Scrum and Project efforts.
  • Secure, operate, sustain the on-prem and hybrid-cloud software defined data center using NetBackup, NetApp, CISCO, F5, Palo Alto and VMWare’s NSX-T systems along with native cloud networking and storage tools 24x7 including rotational on-call and after-hours patching/installation requirements
  • Design, plan, engineer, implement the storage and network infrastructure for classified and unclassified networks including on-prem/private cloud, hybrid-cloud and native cloud environments focused specifically on AWS, and Azure
  • Documenting networking and storage infrastructure, data flows, security compliance, ports-and-protocols requirements to ensure design and operations capabilities
  • Identifying future cloud networking and storage capability requirements for consideration in engineering and design processes including evaluation of and recommendations for hardware, software, and new capabilities.
  • Perform networking and storage roles in agile and traditional project teams to ensure successful operations
  • Develop and implement management and monitoring capabilities to provide pro-active event identification to prevent incidents and outages
  • Serving as Tier III Networking and Storage support responding to and remediating vulnerabilities, incidents, outages as needed including troubleshooting, after action review, or escalation and engagement with vendor
  • Maintaining networking and storage documentation and security plans for the infrastructure.

 

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • 8 years with BS/BAd degree; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA degree; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; Minimum of 12 years with HS. 
  • IAT II certification (or 8140 equivalent).
  • Experience engineering, implementing, operating, maintaining, securing CISCO and Software Defined Data Center and/or cloud environments (AWS and Azure preferred).
  • Experience engineering, implementing, operating, maintaining, securing NetApp and NetBackup storage and backup capabilities.
  • Experience with Proxy configurations using F5 GTM/LTM (APM/AFM, ASM and irules preferred).
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, monitoring and managing Palo Altos including the Panorama management suite.
  • Experience implementing networking and storage/backup configurations to support private, hybrid/multi-cloud. environments including facilitating support for enterprise hosting operations such as IIS, Apache, FIPS encryption, SSL Off-loading, DoD PKI/OCSP operations.
  • Experience implementing and auditing STIG compliance in networking and storage environments including collaboration for development of Plans of Action and Milestones.
  • Experience working with proactive management and monitoring tools such as Aria Operations, Aria for Logs, SolarWinds, ACAS, EvaluateSTIG.
  • Experience working with an enterprise ITSM ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy.
  • Experience participating and operating in ITIL and Agile/PMP frameworks.
  • Active DoD U.S. Secret security clearance/Tier 3 background investigation.

 

Preferred:

  • CISCO Networking Certification
  • Cloud Training or Certification (Azure or AWS)

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
