Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a highly experienced Sr. IRIS Analyst to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of business development activities, proposal development efforts, and quality control functions related to the IRIS (Intelligent Research and Information System) platform. This role will provide critical expertise to ensure Peraton's competitive positioning and delivery excellence in support of Intelligence Community customers.

 

Location: Remote / Part-time/on-call

 

Summary

The ideal candidate will bring deep commercial marketing expertise, extensive Intelligence Community domain knowledge, and comprehensive familiarity with the IRIS platform. This role requires flexibility to respond rapidly to business development opportunities, proposal requirements, and program execution challenges while maintaining the highest standards of quality and strategic insight.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on commercial marketing best practices and strategies for positioning IRIS capabilities within the Intelligence Community marketplace.
  • Provide expert advice on engaging commercial marketing firms as vendors or subcontractors.
  • Act as key interface on Intelligence Community proposal teams, representing OPIAS/IRIS capabilities and ensuring accurate, compelling articulation of platform benefits.
  • Develop high-quality proposal content tailored to Intelligence Community customer requirements, including technical approaches, past performance narratives, and capability statements.
  • Serve as quality control Subject Matter Expert for program execution deliverables, ensuring all IRIS-related products meet customer expectations and contract requirements.
  • Provide expert consultation on IRIS platform applications across diverse Intelligence Community mission sets, including collection management, targeting, analysis, and dissemination.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Capture, and Program Management teams to identify opportunities and develop winning strategies for IRIS-related pursuits.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Intelligence Community priorities, emerging requirements, and competitive landscape related to intelligence research and information systems.
  • Provide rapid-response support for time-sensitive proposals, customer engagements, and program challenges requiring IRIS subject matter expertise.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, OR PhD with 7+ years of relevant experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for education.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial marketing strategies, including market positioning, competitive analysis, and vendor/partner engagement.
  • Proven experience developing proposals for Intelligence Community customers.
  • Deep familiarity with the IRIS platform, including its technical architecture, functional capabilities, and applications across intelligence mission areas.
  • Experience conducting quality control reviews of intelligence products, analytical deliverables, or technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision, managing time effectively across multiple priorities.
  • U.S. citizenship required. 
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) with 15+ years of experience in Intelligence Community operations, business development, marketing, communication, political science or related fields.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and evaluating subcontractor capabilities, including assessment of Facility Clearance Levels and security requirements.
  • Proposal Manager or Capture Manager experience with documented win record on competitive Intelligence Community procurements.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, or using IRIS in operational intelligence environments.
  • Familiarity with competitive intelligence tools and methodologies for tracking competitor capabilities and win/loss analysis.
  • Experience developing quality assurance/quality control frameworks or standard operating procedures for intelligence products.
  • Strong professional network within the Intelligence Community and defense industry, with established relationships at customer organizations and partner companies.

 

This is a part-time, on-call position with flexible hours based on business needs. Work will be performed remotely, with workload varying based on active proposals, business development activities, and program support requirements. The ideal candidate will be available for periodic meetings, rapid-response tasking, and collaborative sessions with Peraton teams. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and based on hours worked.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
