Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

Peraton requires a Satellite Planner to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order. This position is located at Fort Bragg, NC.

Satellite Planner

  • Provides technical and operational support, as well as subject matter expertise for Frequency Division Multiple Accesses (FDMA), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA), Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Tactical Satellite (TACSAT), INMARSAT.
  • Provides technical and operational support, as well as subject matter expertise for Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN), Global Broadcast Satellite (GBS), High-Performance Waveform (HPW), and other satellite communication (SATCOM) networks.
  • Configures networks, monitors systems, activates remote terminals, as well as tracks and resolves SATCOM incident reports and problems related to baseband, intermediate frequency (IF), and RF communications.
  • Analyzes Satellite Access Requests (SARs), Gateway Access Requests (GARs), Satellite Access Authorizations (SAAs), Gateway Access Authorizations (GAAs).
  • Develops and reviews Telecommunication Service Requests (TSRs), Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs), Transmission Plans, and other documentation to determine SATCOM configuration requirements and alternatives and then report the results to the Government as required.
  • Utilizes Government-provided tools and applications to develop network diagrams and cutsheets based on their analyses.
  • Provides daily status reports on equipment, network availability, and network utilization using Government-provided tools and applications and enters outage and restoral information into the Government’s trouble management system.
  • Represents USSOCOM and interfaces with software and hardware vendors for support issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • AS + 10 years of experience OR BS + 8 years of experience OR MS + 6 years of experience OR HS with 12 years of experience 
  • A DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level is required
  • Technical Experience: At least two (2) years of prior experience as a Satellite Planner is required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Satellite Communications Systems Operator/Maintainer Course, Joint C4 Planner’s Course

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
