Responsibilities

 

We’re seeking a strategic, detail-driven Director to lead project administration, reporting, compliance, and coordination across complex initiatives. This role partners closely with the Project/Program Manager to ensure seamless planning, execution, and performance throughout the project life cycle. Preferred candidate must be local to the DMV area..

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project administration functions including data review, reporting, budgeting, and documentation management.

  • Support project/program leadership in planning, scheduling, and monitoring deliverables to ensure milestones are met.

  • Provide executive-level briefings and status updates on action items, risks, metrics, and contract performance.

  • Develop and manage systems for data collection, reporting criteria, documentation, and audit files.

  • Conduct research, compile statistics, and prepare narratives for reports and presentations.

  • Monitor timelines, track submissions, and ensure all project records are accurate and compliant.

  • Identify risks and lead issue-resolution efforts to mitigate impacts on project success.

  • Design and implement program compliance procedures to ensure objectives and regulatory criteria are met.

  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to address issues and drive program alignment.

  • Prepare monthly variance reports with detailed footnotes and insights.

  • Evaluate program performance to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and on-target implementation.

  • Strong background in project or program management

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills

  • Ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience in compliance, reporting, and performance monitoring

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 16 years of experience, may have management experience

  • 10–15+ years managing large-scale federal IT programs ($50M–$300M).

  • Direct experience with IRS, Treasury, or at minimum another financial-regulator (FDIC, OCC, SEC, CFPB).

  • Proven Federal Program Delivery (Mandatory)

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver under FITARA oversight, OMB A-11 constraints, and IRS’s internal governance gates.

  • Ability to manage ACIO-level stakeholders without being intimidated or passive.

  • Experience handling escalations, politically charged conversations, and contract compliance disputes.

  • Build deep relationships within MITS, ACIO Apps, Cyber, User & Network Services, Enterprise Ops, Online Services.

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Agency Clearance 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification is a plus
  • Bachelors Degree is a plus

Target Salary Range

$229,000 - $366,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
