Responsibilities

The Master Scheduler will support the Program Manager in communicating program plan and status. Working in this role, you'll be responsible for providing guidance to the program manager and team members regarding all aspects of program schedules. You’ll work closely with clients to develop and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule to understand and visualize numerous project and program dependencies and complexities. You’ll move quickly in a fluid environment to guide Agile development of a project roadmap, establish project milestones, and implement metrics to track progress. You'll thrive in this role if you consistently deliver high quality work, anticipate program needs, and independently drive projects to completion. 

 

Duties Include:

  • Build and maintain a program-level IMS which includes major milestones and deliverables  
  • Coordinate and maintain an integrated project and activity schedule across all offices. 
  • Develop the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) 
  • Lead cross functional team members in the definition of project tasks, establish task durations, define relationships, impose constraints, collect weekly status 
  • Propose processes that will aid Integrated Scheduling and understand the impacts of any changes to program delivery  
  • Design and implement WBS coding structures and IMS coding structure 
  • Define methodology and approach for implementing giver/receivers 
  • Develop tier-one schedule (SSI Tools) tier-two schedules, and master schedule from a single database using Microsoft Project 
  • Develop process, procedures, and strategy for implementing scheduling best practices 
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to the program staff with regards to scheduling 
  • Support requests for ad hoc scheduling efforts for proposals, and programs “in need” 

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, or a PhD with 3+ years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of experience can be substituted.
  • Active Top Secret clearance required or able to obtain interim TS prior to start and must be able to obtain SCI and polygraph.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Scheduling Professional (SP) certification 
  • Expertise using Microsoft Project and add-on software such as SSI Tools and audit software. 
  • Ability to identify, track, and integrate risks into the IMS.
  • Ability to develop high level schedules and graphics utilizing MS Project to deliver to senior leaders and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to facilitate client-facing meetings to review the IMS and discuss potential schedule slips and mitigation plans. 
  • Experience tracking multiple high priority information technology projects. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic. 
  • Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions. 
  • Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others. 
  • Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met. 

 

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with Information Technology and Cyber projects.
  • Experience with traditional waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
