Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our network security infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure that our network—on-premises, cloud, and hybrid—is safe, resilient, and compliant with industry standards and internal policies. You will collaborate with IT, security, and operations teams to protect critical assets, monitor threats, and respond to security incidents.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and deploy network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
  • Configure and manage network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and security appliances in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Monitor network traffic and security logs, identify anomalies or suspicious events, and escalate as needed.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure; recommend remediation steps.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network & security issues (e.g., connectivity, routing, firewall rules, VPN failures).
  • Develop and maintain network security policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all network and security changes follow configuration management and change control processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network/security technologies, threats, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support for incident response: investigation, root cause analysis, containment, and recovery of network security events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT operations, cloud, applications, compliance) to drive security best practices

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience or 12 years of experience and a HS Diploma/Equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience in network engineering, network security, or a closely related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing & switching, VLANs, NAT, VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network protocols.
  • Experience configuring and managing security devices and tools (firewalls, VPN appliances, intrusion detection/prevention).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills — ability to interpret network traffic, logs, and packet captures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance.

Preferred  Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSE, CEH.
  • Experience with cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with network automation/scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Experience working in a 24×7 operations environment and handling incident/on-call duties.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
