Peraton is seeking an experienced Human Resources leader in support of our National Aerospace Sector. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that partners with the Vice President, Human Resources, in support of talent/workforce priorities for the Sector and across Peraton. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, engaging with business leaders in securing the talent necessary to deliver growth and execution of customer programs, providing superior internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Successful candidates will demonstrate and have responsibility for the following in an ever-evolving environment:

  • The ability to build trusted relationships with the Sector leadership team and translate key talent priorities in support of business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in productivity and development of HR
  • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with your HR colleagues – you bring a point of view in leveraging new ideas and/or past experiences to influence decisions.
  • You can identify root-cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then lean in, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect their sites and create new mechanisms as they are needed.
  • While this role leads a small team of HR Business Partners directly, a true hands-on approach is required to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement. Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment is highly valued.
  • Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention, and reward programs.
  • Experience in developing and executing change management strategies to accelerate adoption of new technology, program and/or processes.
  • The ability to thrive in high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves."
  • A capacity to develop creative solutions that balance the needs of the business in concert with employee interests.
  • Identify and sponsor HR-wide professional development and engagement initiatives that support the future and strengthen the global HR community.
  • Collaborative mindset with both internal and external customers
  • Bias for action, persistent work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence.
  • Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on driving results.

Qualifications

 

  • 16 years of demonstrated experience as an HR practitioner with progressive HR generalist or business partner responsibilities; to include experience in a management role, preferably in the government contracting industry.
  • Demonstrated background in employee relations including investigations and corrective practices, performance management, training and development, and staffing and retention required.
  • Well versed in federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting HR.
  • This role is located in a Peraton office within the DMV area and requires the candidate to be onsite 4x’s a week to partner in person with the HR Business Partner and Sector leadership Teams.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Post graduate degree or related certification is preferred (i.e. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, etc.)

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
