Responsibilities

Description 

Peraton is seeking a mid-level web developer. This position focuses on building and maintaining web applications with less direct supervision, requiring expertise in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks) and back-end languages, along with API integration, database interaction, performance optimization, and participation in code reviews and team collaboration. Key responsibilities include translating designs into functional code, troubleshooting issues, contributing to technical documentation, and potentially mentoring junior developers.  

Responsibilities 

  • Build dynamic and functional websites and web applications, integrating features and ensuring compatibility with various devices.  
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers, project managers, and other developers to translate designs into code and ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components.  
  • Write and maintain clean, efficient, and testable code, utilizing appropriate frameworks and libraries.  
  • Optimize web pages for speed, scalability, and accessibility, and manage data flow and database interactions.  
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to ensure proper function.  
  • Participate in code reviews, implement data security measures, and ensure the quality and robustness of the application.  
  • Contribute to technical documentation and maintain code to improve future maintainability.  
  • Provide informal guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Qualifications

  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with HS Diploma
  •  Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Primary work locations in Tacoma, WA, Aurora, CO, San Antonio, TX, and Falls Church, Remote work may be considered in special cases when approved by the customer. 
  • Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and popular front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.  
  • Experience with at least one back-end language (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP) and database interaction (SQL or NoSQL).  
  • Solid understanding of integrating APIs and managing data flow between client and server.  
  • Experience implementing responsive design for optimal viewing on mobile devices.  
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical challenges.  
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.  
  • High attention to detail to catch errors in code

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working within Military Health environments (preferred)
  • Current active IAT II certification (Security+) with related web development Computing Environment (CE) certification(s) to comply with DoD 8570 and DoD 8140.03 requirements (preferred) 
  • BA/BS (4 year) degree in an IT or math related field plus 6+ years progressive experience in web development job roles preferred.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
