Responsibilities

 

Peraton is seeking a Senior Principal Configuration Management Solution Engineer in Washington D.C. who will be responsible for but not limited to:

 

  • Providing senior principal engineering level expertise on the configuration management solution in the baseline configuration of end points
  • Deployment of software to selected user and end point groups
  • IT asset management capabilities
  • Endpoint and software reporting
  • Application virtualization
  • Other configuration management components as directed by the government.
  • Experience in the migration from on-premise configuration management solutions to a configuration management solution is expected
  • Utilize common automation technologies where possible to optimize and create efficiency in the work center. These technologies include PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Python, and others as appropriate
  • Provide support within Government approved timeframes for upgrades, vulnerability management, and break-fix actions

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Clearance: TS/SCI required
  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; 4 additional years of relevant experience can be substituted for BS degree.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience supporting systems of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience with configuration management systems, vulnerability management, software management, operating systems deployment, IT asset management on-premise, hybrid, and cloud-based environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and updating configuration management systems. Automation and orchestration, the maintenance and monitoring of these systems, and integrating new solutions.
  • DoD 8140 IAT II compliant.

 

Preferred:

  • Certifications in order of preference:
    • Azure or AWS Administrator or Security Expert
    • Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (retired in 2021)

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
