Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Naval Logistics Engineer to work directly with our Navy customers maintaining integrated logistics support for R&D and in-service electro-mechanical systems for naval applications.

 

Location:  Onsite in West Bethesda, MD

  • Support life cycle maintenance and integrated logistics product development for US Navy Submarine system(s)
  • Provide interim and full logistics support to In-service Engineering Agent for COLUMBIA and VIRGINIA Class submarine system(s)
    • Create and submit work files in Model Based Product Support (MBPS)
    • Participate and act as the subject matter expert for the ISEA during part provisioning conferences
  • Must have thorough understanding of ILS Certs, APLs/BOMs, and parts/hardware drawings.
  • Use Interactive Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS) to develop and maintain Allowance Parts Lists (APLs) and link them to Navy Item Control Numbers (NICNs).
  • Involves direct contact with customers and fleet users, and demands performance that is both detail oriented and time critical
  • Duties of the position include interpreting shipboard installation drawings, allowance parts lists (APLs), and ILS Certifications to prepare work files in support of ISEA system installations, as well as extracting data from NDE to support delivery of ILS packages. Position requires creating an ILS certification and alteration record in the ILS Navy Data Environment – Navy Modernization (NDE-NM). Position will use an account in NDE-ILS module.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or close-related math/science/technology discipline and 2+ years of experience.

 

 

  • Active Configuration Tech Data Manager (CTDM) role in Model Based Product Support (MBPS) is required. Candidate must have experience creating COP loads from scratch and loading in MBPS.
  • Candidate must have experience creating an ILS certification and alteration record in the ILS Navy Data Environment – Navy Modernization (NDE-NM).
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

 

Candidate must have one of the following:

  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration.
  • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
  • Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences.
  • Two years’ relevant experience.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with In-service Engineering Agents (ISEAs) for Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) submarine systems
  • Familiar with zero COG interim provisioned systems
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of the types of Provisioning Technical Data (PTD) and how it is used in the provisioning process.
  • Familiar with methods to establish a Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) for a vessel.
  • Familiarity with Navy Modernization Process Management and Operation Manual (NMP-MOM), in particular the sections dealing with ILS and the provisioning process (Sections 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9).
  • Strong communication, team collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
  • Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of US Navy and Department of Defense Logistics Systems including supply processes, stock control, warehousing, inventory management, depot level repair, production, integration design, and physical distribution of supplies.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge and documented use of software systems/databases used for logistics support of US Navy material.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment while working on multiple projects of diverse scope will be key to successful performance of the task requirements associated with this position.

Extensive experience with MBPS and Configuration Data Managers Database - Open Architecture (CDMD-OA).

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
