Peraton is seeking an Fusion Hub Director serves as the senior integration authority and strategic advisor for aligning complex modernization efforts across the FAA’s Broad National Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS). This role provides enterprise-level guidance on system fusion, agile portfolio governance, and cross-program orchestration—ensuring that modernization initiatives deliver cohesive, interoperable, and safety-compliant outcomes across the National Airspace System (NAS). The SME operates at the intersection of strategy, engineering, and execution, driving alignment among FAA organizations, integrators, and technical teams to achieve BNATCS mission objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as the principal integration and portfolio management advisor to FAA leadership and BNATCS program management.
  • Define and oversee enterprise integration strategies that synchronize development, deployment, and sustainment activities across multiple task orders and technical domains.
  • Lead the design of the BNATCS Fusion Framework—integrating systems, data, and operational functions under a unified enterprise architecture.
  • Drive the implementation of Agile-at-Scale (SAFe) and Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices to ensure alignment between strategic intent and program delivery.
  • Coordinate portfolio-level dependency mapping, risk mitigation, and capability sequencing across FAA ATO, AJM, AJW, and industry partners.
  • Provide executive-level insight into portfolio performance, inter-system dependencies, and delivery health using quantitative analytics and visualization tools.
  • Advise on use of digital engineering and MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) methods to enable traceability from enterprise architecture to operational outcomes.
  • Oversee fusion of cybersecurity, safety, and engineering integration processes to support FAA’s Safety Management System (SMS) and mission assurance objectives.
  • Evaluate vendor integration approaches, ensure technical interoperability, and advise on governance structures that promote agile collaboration and architectural consistency.
  • Mentor senior integration engineers, release train engineers (RTEs), and portfolio managers in applying agile frameworks to large, safety-critical modernization programs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience or Masters degree and 6 years or Associate’s degree and 10 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience. 
  • Experience in Air Traffic Control, Traffic Management, or NAS operational environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Air Traffic Organization (ATO) procedures, Order JO 7110.65, and traffic flow management principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, safety, and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing reports, impact analyses, and operational readiness documentation.
  • Experience supporting field facilities, Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), or Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate coordination between field operations, engineering, and program management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data visualization, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel for site visits, assessments, or readiness reviews as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with or for the FAA, DOT, or state aviation authorities.

  • Familiarity with FAA NextGen and Alaska aviation safety initiatives.

  • Master’s degree in Aviation, Systems Engineering, or Transportation Management.

  • Prior experience as an FAA Air Traffic Controller, Traffic Management Specialist, or Airspace Procedures Specialist.

  • Experience with FAA facility transitions, system deployments, or technology integration projects.

  • Familiarity with Safety Management System (SMS) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.

  • Professional certifications such as CCTM (Certified Control Tower Manager) or ATP/CFII credentials.

  • Experience supporting FAA NextGen, ERAM, STARS, or SWIM system implementations.

  • Strong background in change management and operational risk communication.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
