The Business Process Improvement Specialist provides expert consulting in business and operational process change, focusing on enhancing efficiency, quality, and performance across organizational operations. This role involves leading process re-engineering efforts, optimizing production activities, and implementing sustainable improvements that align with strategic goals and industry best practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Consults with leadership and stakeholders to identify, design, and implement business and operational process improvements.

  • Provides process engineering and technical support expertise to production operations, ensuring alignment with performance and quality goals.

  • Analyzes existing processes and develops re-engineering alternatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Plans and manages process improvement projects, integrating new or modified processes into existing workflows with minimal disruption.

  • Performs supply chain and operations analyses to identify optimization opportunities and develops actionable recommendations.

  • Facilitates and supports quality improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma, Lean, and ISO 9004 compliance.

  • Develops and models business processes and requirements using structured tools and techniques such as use-case scenarios and workflow diagrams.

  • Integrates process and business models with system architecture and data requirements to ensure cohesion between business operations and technology systems.

  • Communicates process changes effectively to stakeholders, ensuring understanding, adoption, and sustained success.

  • May supervise or lead a small team of analysts or process engineers to achieve project deliverables.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in business process improvement, operational analysis, or related consulting fields.

  • Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt or equivalent quality/process improvement certification preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Expertise in process modeling and business analysis tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio, ARIS).

    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management skills.

    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage process change initiatives.

Clearance:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
