Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior-level GEOINT Systems Engineer to support the National Enterprise Engineering (NEE) contract. In this role, you will provide critical technical leadership and guidance across complex geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) systems. You will help ensure the delivery of timely, accurate, and reliable GEOINT capabilities across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and partner Federal Agencies.

 

As a senior technical expert, you’ll lead and mentor system engineering teams through all phases of the engineering lifecycle—driving innovation, ensuring system resiliency, and shaping the future of GEOINT capabilities in support of mission success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor mid- and junior-level systems engineers in performing requirements engineering, solutions development, integration, testing, and system sustainment across NSG, ASG, and Federal mission partners.
  • Guide the planning and traceability of user requirements, architectures, and workflows to optimize system performance and identify opportunities for automation or improvement.
  • Direct the design and development of technical solutions based on mission requirements and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders to capture and translate mission and customer needs into actionable system and capability requirements.
  • Support system-level analyses and allocation of requirements to architecture components and executing programs.
  • Assist with systems integration, performance engineering, and risk management activities across multiple acquisition programs.
  • Conduct Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and detailed engineering assessments to inform decision-making.
  • Provide strategic technical planning and interface design guidance to ensure seamless integration of systems, services, and processes across organizational and agency boundaries.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as:

    • Engineering (any discipline)

    • Physics

    • Mathematics

    • Operations Research

    • Engineering Management

    • Computer Science

    • Information Technology

    • Management Information Systems

    • Other related STEM degree programs

  • OR 12+ years of relevant systems engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of senior-level experience in government or industry roles related to:

    • DoD/IC Acquisition Processes

    • Requirements Development Processes

    • PPBES (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System)

    • Systems Engineering of large, complex Systems of Systems (SoS) or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)/Cloud environments

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the systems engineering lifecycle

Security Clearance

  • Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI access and successfully complete a polygraph examination

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired)

Education

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field as listed above

Certifications & Licenses

  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

Technical Expertise

  • Working knowledge of:

    • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, processes, and languages

    • Software Development Frameworks

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following:

    • Photogrammetry

    • Remote Sensing

    • Image Science

    • Information Sciences

    • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

    • Geomatics

    • Other related geospatial intelligence disciplines

Industry Experience

  • Documented experience in the Geospatial Intelligence field

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current NSG (National System for Geospatial-Intelligence), ASG (Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence), and NRO (National Reconnaissance Office) enterprises

Professional Affiliations

  • Active membership or leadership roles in any of the following organizations:

    • American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM)

    • American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

    • American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS)

    • Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)

    • Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)

    • United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF)

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
