Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President – Pricing & Estimation to lead pricing efforts across our portfolio of high-impact, strategic business opportunities. This executive role is essential to driving Peraton’s growth by developing actionable pricing strategies and delivering competitive intelligence insights that shape capture strategies and increase bid success.

 

The VP will serve as the subject matter expert for all pricing activities across the business development lifecycle—from opportunity qualification through proposal submission—and will provide senior leadership with decision-quality analyses, scenario modeling, and data-driven recommendations. This role requires close collaboration across the business with corporate functions and technical teams, demonstrating the ability to align teams and lead a cohesive approach to successful pricing strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of approximately 50 pricing professionals ensuring collaboration with stakeholders and compliance with our estimation system requirements.
  • Deliver comprehensive decision support analyses including profitability modeling, risk assessments, competitive intelligence, and market research.
  • Mine and analyze RFPs, RFIs, and contract documents to extract meaningful insights and inform competitive positioning.
  • Develop and maintain customer and competitor profiles that directly influence capture strategies, Black Hat reviews, and proposal positioning.
  • Support major business development lifecycle events including Black Hat reviews, Bid Gate reviews, Color Team reviews, and proposal pricing strategies.
  • Design and implement analytical models for complex bids, integrating technical, cost, and schedule variables to assess win probability.
  • Maintain and evolve a corporate historical cost and pricing database to enhance institutional knowledge and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Capture, Proposal, Contracts, Finance, and Program teams to ensure alignment on competitive strategies and pricing approaches.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in government contracting ideally in pricing and/or finance roles.
  • 5 years of experience leading and mentoring teams.
  • Hands-on experience developing and delivering both top-down and bottoms-up pricing and price to win analyses.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and engage the Pricing and Estimation and business development organizations
  • Deep understanding of federal government acquisition strategies, procurement practices, and contracting vehicles.
  • Proven success supporting and winning complex, competitive government bids.
  • Demonstrated expertise in gathering, analyzing, and applying competitive intelligence to inform capture strategies.
  • Advanced modeling skills and experience with complex cost estimation.
  • Knowledge of FAR and experience with all contract types (Fixed Price, Cost Plus, Time and Materials) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience briefing senior executives.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, especially in Excel (advanced modeling) and Word.
  • Clearance ideal; need to be able to be cleared for TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to work on-site and commutable to Reston/Herndon, VA

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting bids in Defense, Intelligence, or Civilian government sectors.
  • Working knowledge of pricing and acquisition trends within Peraton’s core technology areas and emerging markets.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools for pricing and competitive analysis.

Target Salary Range

$229,000 - $366,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
