Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Program Director in support of our Space Communications Services (SCS) Operating Unit.  The SCS portfolio is comprised of multiple Prime programs, such as the NASA Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, that deliver mission and operations success, space systems communications development, system architecture, system engineering, and facilities services to enable scientific discovery and space exploration by providing space communications and navigation solutions. This individual will serve as an advisor and leader who supports the Operating Unit Vice President, project managers, task leads, and business operations personnel. The role will serve as the primary interface to the subcontracts organization, ensuring seamless alignment between the program, business unit, sector, and enterprise-level initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in contracts and subcontracts with a strong track record of driving efficiency, compliance, and value creation in highly complex programmatic environments.

 

This position will allow for 100% remote, with occasional travel to Peraton and customer sites as needed.  

 

This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as the program advisor to the Vice President, project managers/task leads
  • Act as the primary advisor to program teams ensuring consistent alignment across program portfolio, business unit, and sector.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on contracts, subcontracts, and other programmatic matters impacting execution.
  • Drive efficiency and process improvements that meet the needs of the programs, portfolio, business unit, and corporate initiatives.
  • Support proposal development, capture activities, and execution strategies
  • Advise leadership on risks, opportunities, and compliance requirements.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between program and functional organizations

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • BS/BA degree and 20+ years of progressive experience in program procurement, contracts, subcontracts, or purchasing roles, with demonstrated leadership influence.
  • Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and program teams.
  • Strong knowledge of federal contracting, subcontracts management, and supplier negotiations (if applicable to your industry).
  • Demonstrated success driving efficiency and process optimization across diverse program and business environments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence across organizational levels.
  • Experience working in large, complex organizations with matrixed relationships.
  • Experience supporting a portfolio or multi-program environment.
  • Deep knowledge of corporate procurement systems and tools.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., FAR/DFARS if defense-related, or industry equivalents).
  • Advanced degrees in Business, Supply Chain, Contracts, or related field.
  • This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
