Help shape the future of U.S. airspace safety and efficiency. We are seeking a Facilities Workstream Safety Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will oversee and enforce safety standards across FAA facility design, construction, and modernization projects. In this role, you will provide technical safety leadership, compliance oversight, and risk management, ensuring that all facility-related activities including power, HVAC, cabling, and physical infrastructure are conducted in accordance with FAA standards and federal safety regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs.
In this position, you will:
Lead safety oversight for all facilities-related workstreams, including construction, installation, and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with FAA standards, OSHA regulations, and federal safety management requirements.
Develop, implement, and monitor safety risk management plans, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies.
Conduct and oversee safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and subcontractors to embed safety requirements into facility designs and plans.
Provide safety expertise during requirements reviews, design reviews, and readiness assessments.
Prepare and maintain safety documentation, risk registers, and compliance reports.
Ensure all projects adhere to Safety Management System (SMS) principles and FAA safety guidelines.
Deliver training and mentoring to project staff and subcontractors on safety practices and standards.
Report safety performance, risks, and recommendations to FAA leadership and program managers.

Advanced degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or related discipline.
Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), or CSME (Certified Safety Management Expert).
Experience managing safety programs for FAA, DOT, DHS, or other federal infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with FAA NextGen modernization programs and facilities safety dependencies.
Background in green building, LEED standards, and sustainable construction practices.
Experience developing or contributing to federal safety standards or industry best practices.
Familiarity with FAA standards for facility safety and infrastructure compliance.
