Peraton is looking for a Cyber Systems Engineer with strong expertise in Splunk to support a mission-critical program within our Cyber Missions Business Unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. As a Systems Engineer / Splunk Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing enterprise-wide cybersecurity operations. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing Splunk infrastructure in support of a high-impact government mission.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain, manage, and optimize Splunk deployments, covering both system-level and application-level administration
Administer and support Splunk Enterprise Security (ES)
Implement updates, patches, and configuration changes to maintain system security and performance
Monitor and troubleshoot system logs; collaborate effectively with both government and contractor team members
Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, integration issues, and data flow challenges
Analyze stakeholder requirements to design scalable, secure, and modernized Splunk solutions
Lead modernization efforts to improve existing Splunk capabilities
Splunk Architecture Design & Sizing
Ingestion Pipeline Development
Data Modeling & Optimization
Custom Dashboard Development
Proven experience as a Systems Engineer with a focus on Splunk administration and optimization
Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments and cybersecurity operations
Experience with Splunk ES, performance tuning, and data ingestion best practices
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mission environment

Position Requirements:
17+ years of Systems Engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Hands-on experience with Splunk, and proven ability to plan and lead systems initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (an additional 5 years of SE experience may be substituted for a degree).
Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required.
