Responsibilities

The DoD AI/ML program office, created in July 2022, leads the planning, integration, and execution of capabilities and services. This includes the transformation of the AI/ML into a program of record at NGA and complete integration into the NGA and the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) architectural framework. To accomplish this initiative, the DoD AI/ML program office will perform all the necessary activities to include development of Strategy, Architecture, Requirements Framework, Acquisition Strategy, Business process, Product Strategy, Test Strategy, Intellectual Property Strategy, Schedule, and all other supporting activities to ensure program success.

 

Mid-Level Enterprise Solutions Engineer will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities of an organization's information systems. This position plans, designs, develops, evaluates, tests, and integrates an organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software.

 

Duties Include:

  • Assists the Government in developing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across NSG, ASG and Federal Agencies.
  • Develops system and programming specifications.
  • Designs data processing solutions based on business need and technical considerations. Researches and resolves application production problems. Monitors application performance and performs run time improvement functions.
  • Prepares system documentation.
  • Performs complex engineering analysis and design tasks. Prepares specifications and designs, and implements solutions.
  • Assists in design subsystems; assists in developing standards. May work as part of a project team.
  • Evaluates IT system problems of workflow, organization, and planning.
  • Assists in the design, development, analysis, installation, maintenance, operation and servicing of computer operating/hardware systems within a cybersecurity environment; provides customer support · Works under direct supervision; does related work as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related disciplines is required. 
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBE Process or system engineering of DoD Information Systems.
  • Understanding of the Digital Engineering Framework and Configuration Management
  • 2+ years working experience working with (DoDAF) standards
  • 2+ years working experience working with Model Base System Engineers (MBSE)
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
  • Software Development Framework certification.
  • Experience in the field of geospatial intelligence. · Experience in engineering solutions using Cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience in engineering solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.
  • Experience in engineering solutions using Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence technologies.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
