Responsibilities

We’re looking for an Expert-level Systems Engineer to help lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts supporting the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and various Federal Agencies. This role ensures the timely and accurate delivery of GEOINT by supporting the entire systems engineering lifecycle—from requirements and design to integration and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Government in leading efforts across requirements engineering, solutions development, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, integration, testing, evaluation, maintainability, and analysis.

  • Assist in planning and analyzing user requirements, architecture traceability, and identifying improvements to current systems—including cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling constraints.

  • Advise on solution design updates based on requirement analysis and emerging technologies.

  • Translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and actionable solutions.

  • Support allocation of requirements to system architecture components and implementation across programs.

  • Contribute to systems integration and help lead Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.

  • Assist with strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.

  • Provide high-level guidance to align vision, strategy, planning, and requirements with capability development.

  • Operate at a strategic level, integrating multiple Major Systems Acquisitions across agencies, departments, and national boundaries.

  • Oversee and coordinate activities of contractor systems engineers at the Senior, Mid, and Junior levels.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, Computer Science, IT, MIS).
    –OR–
    Additional relevant experience: 4+ years with no degree, or 2+ years with a non-STEM degree.

  • Experience:

    • 18+ years of experience in government or industry, including:

      • DoD/IC Acquisition or Requirements processes

      • PPBES process

      • Systems engineering for large, complex Systems of Systems or Service-Oriented Architectures in cloud, on-premise, or hybrid environments

    • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices

    • Familiarity with NSG/ASG and NRO

    • Prior experience with NGA and/or NSG/ASG programs

    • Experience with IC or DoD projects

  • Clearance:
    TS/SCI eligibility with the ability to obtain SCI access and pass a polygraph

Desired:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field

  • Experience with:

    • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and related tools/processes

    • Software development frameworks

    • Cloud-based architectures

    • Big Data (structured & unstructured) solutions

    • Automation, augmentation, and AI-driven engineering

  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Professional affiliations or leadership roles in organizations such as:

    • ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, USGIF

  • Deep expertise in geospatial fields including:

    • Photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, GIS, geomatics, or related areas

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
