Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Operational Risk Analyst (Modeling and Simulations) to join our Mission Assurance and Operations Research Analysis (MA/ORSA) team in support of Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC). Location:  Fort Meade, Maryland. 

In this role, support operations research analysis for intelligence, cyberspace operations, contingency operations, and operational-level planning, joint and multilateral training exercises, and strategic engagement policy.   

 

Duties include:

  • Devise the modeling and measuring techniques to investigate complex issues and solve problems -- develop and execute experimentation, models, and simulations
  • Assist in addressing requirements and the evaluation of data assessment strategies: sampling, statistical analysis, evaluation, flow processing, and management assessment strategies
  • Develop strategies to forecast risk across assets, missions, tasks, area of operations, and other identified boundaries
  • Develop metrics, trend analysis, and other continuous assessments monitor and assess the health and status of cyber terrain 
  • Provide reporting of analyses and continuous assessments via Risk Dashboard/Risk Scorecard
  • Provide trend analysis reports as weekly, monthly, and quarterly rollups
  • Provide risk, mitigations, COAs, and recommendations for added resources
  • Support command level wargames/exercises - travel expected

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. Will consider HS with 16+ years experience.
  • Background includes quantitative experience and/or education (e.g., mathematics, statistics, etc.). 
  • Must be familiar with systems engineering, operations research, and object-oriented software coding experience (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB). 
  • Must have familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering, SysML, and modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Must have familiarity with analysis and creation of custom metrics within a discrete event simulator framework like AFSIM, be able to perform analysis with post-processing software (such as Python, R, Excel, etc.), and provide quantitative/qualitative answers to challenging, cyberspace systems-focused questions.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of Defensive Cyberspace Operations -- possess an in-depth understanding of cyberspace doctrine, policies, operations, and organizations.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Able to work periodically on shift to assist the team.
  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • Active DOD TS clearance with ability to obtain SCI.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • DoD 8570 IAT III (CISSP, CASP, CISA, GCED, GCIH).
  • Experience with writing studies that answer senior leader questions; provide analysis, risks, and options; and support decision making.
  • Experience performing data collection and analysis; conducting/producing studies on DODIN terrain types (IT, IAPs, cloud, CDS, encryption, mission partner environment, etc.), capabilities (security devices, tools, etc.), data management, and other issues pertaining to the protection and resilience of the DODIN and specific areas thereof.
  • Experience with data from systems such as Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS), Secure SMADSS, Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRSS), System Network Approval Process Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS), Big Data Platform (BDP), DoD information Technology Repository (DITPR), and other authoritative data sources as required.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
