Responsibilities

In this full-time position (requiring 1880 hours annually, with work performed onsite at a secure customer location), you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of experts working at the forefront of cybersecurity and data science. Your work will help shape the future of data security by bringing clarity, insight, and advanced analytics to complex security datasets.

 

As a Security Data Scientist, you’ll leverage your data expertise to:

  • Analyze and evaluate existing IT-related security data to uncover hidden patterns, risks, and insights.

  • Identify and document the types of data currently being monitored — and just as critically — highlight the gaps where visibility is lacking.

  • Develop and implement best practices for analyzing semantic and syntactic information embedded in complex data structures and objects.

  • Design and apply measures of syntactic and semantic interoperability that inform high-level architectural and implementation decisions made by governing bodies.

  • Prototype, evaluate, and select advanced algorithms to build data models that meet defined security objectives.

  • Deliver clear, impactful reporting that distills technical data into actionable, data-driven intelligence for stakeholders.

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Nine (9) years of experience in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, and analysis of data syntax and semantics with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline. OR
  • Thirteen (13) years of experience without a degree. OR
  • Seven (7) years of experience with a Master’s degree. OR
  • Five (5) years of experience with a PhD.
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. 

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Service Provider functions and responsibilities.
  • Able to work with top-level government management and to work as a team member.
  • Able to analyze data structures and data objects.
  • Strong in writing and communications skills.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
