Information Assurance and Security Associate

We are looking to add an Information Assurance and Security Associate to our team of talented professionals.

In this role, the Information Assurance and Security Associate will:

• Identify, evaluate, and determine an authorization status and/or recommendation for new software applications/versions found on the customer network
• Prepare a listing of new software applications to be reviewed with the Enterprise Architecture (EA) team to determine the best path for an authorization decision for each application and to note all information relevant to the decision-making process
• Identify software found on the network that is not on the SSA Approved Software List and notifies network users and users of software of the need to upgrade, uninstall, or submit an authorization request for the software
• Identify unauthorized software on the network and reports specific instances for remediation 
• As a member of the Software Asset Management (SWAM) Team, provide technical expertise regarding the implementation of software Allowlisting and Denylisting using the SSA agency’s chosen application control tool
• Provide support to the Office of Information Security (OIS) Information Security Policy (ISP) Waiver Request analysis work. 
• Analyze Deviation requests and document associated risks and vulnerabilities for the SWAM team
• Analyze data to identify information needed to create policies and rules for allowing or denying specific software on the agency’s network. 
• Assist with the development and maintenance of the agency's Security Configuration Standards for information technology (IT) systems, including any applicable Tailoring Guides that document the approved deviations from industry guidance documents. 
• Assist with the development and documentation of the business processes necessary for performing software asset management and security exceptions work within the Agency’s Boundary and Endpoint Protection Branch. 
• Experienced with using the Tanium Platform for converged endpoint maintenance, specifically the Interact and Asset modules
• Experienced with Trellix e-Policy Orchestrator Security Management Platform and Application Control.  
• Prepare, analyze and report on metrics detailing the status of the SWAM initiatives.
• Develop / maintain technical documentation and procedures related to installing, upgrading and uninstalling application and programs

Basic Qualifications:

• 4 years with AS/AA, 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
• Ability to pass agency suitability investigation and background check for Public Trust Clearance
• Ability to write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as tracking inventory, storing, or retrieving data
• Technical writing ability to generate comprehensive status reports and system documentation and processes
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with Tanium Core system, Tanium solutions and modules, Trellix e-Policy Orchestrator, Confluence, ServiceNow, JIRA, MS Visio, Word, Excel, Agile and SDLC project management
