Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a I & T Systems Engineer to support the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Space Electronics System ProtoFlight Development (SESPD 2) Contract provides Engineering and Technical Support Services for the development of Spaceflight component hardware, subsystems and system for Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST) Programs.

 

The Vanguard Romeo (VR) program I&T Lead Engineer will coordinate and execute the integration and test program for the payload and will supervise the work of other team members and act in a lead role of a project team in the performance of mechanical, electrical, software, and harness integration activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems integration, test planning, execution, and leadership within complex system environments.

 

Responsibilities of the Position:

  • In-depth understanding of the systems engineering life cycle and best practices for integration and test activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for identifying areas for optimization within systems and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate and oversee testing activities, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met while adhering to the systems engineering life cycle.
  • Provide expert leadership on systems integration, focusing on integrating software and hardware across large, multi-faceted systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement test strategies, develop test cases, test plans and procedures and identify system requirements.
  • Contribute to the Program master schedule for all I&T activities including replans and workarounds as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and teams.
  • Conduct detailed risk analysis, budget preparation and analyses and help with the management of system performance and quality metrics.

 

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience
  • US Citizenship with DOD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI level access.
  • Experience with rocket ordnance
  • Experience on a Spacecraft program with payload integration expertise

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
