Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in transforming the future of technology and public health. This full-time remote position will support our CDC customer in advancing communications systems for digital content creation, management, and delivery via CDC’s Content Management System (CMS).

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, and support features using technologies including WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, JSON, and XML.
  • Develop user interface prototypes, websites, plug-ins, and applications that are easy-to-understand, user-friendly, accessible and tailored to meet the needs of diverse audiences such as the general public, health professionals, and news media.
  • Create assets for Template Package, an agency wide used collection of HTML, CSS, JS, images, and data/JSON components.
  • Establish back-end frameworks to process content and data for end-point products.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the architecture for the CMS, website, and other integrated solutions.
  • Follow best practices to ensure clean, maintainable, and secure codebases, ensuring the longevity and stability of the CMS.  Conduct peer code reviews as requested.
  • Provide sound recommendations that reflect clear knowledge and application of current website design and development subject matter.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service that is prompt, responsive, courteous, and comprehensive.
  • Maintain working relationships that facilitate the positive outcome of program activities.
  • Manage complex responsibilities in a demanding and fast-paced work environment, adapting to quickly changing priorities when unanticipated events occur.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • 12 years relevant experience in website and web application design, development and maintenance.
  • Eexperience using PHP, HTML, CSS,  JavaScript, ReactJS, JSON, and XML.
  • Proven proficiency in producing custom widgets, web page modules, and microsites.
  • Experience building digital products that meet Section 508 compliance guidelines.
  • Experience with customizing third party software products.
  • Development experience with IT projects and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) supporting web content, digital media, and communication services 
  • Development experience with IT projects and O&M for the federal government, ideally for HHS/CDC
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira) in a matrixed project environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to work under tight and shifting deadlines.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks in parallel, with good follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment that supports teamwork, cooperation, and trust, along with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities; flexibility.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green card holder.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the Agency clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of CDC culture, mission, and IT/cyber-security environment.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
