Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior IT Analyst with Agile software development and maintenance experience for a team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration. Prior FAA experience is highly desirable.  Direct collaboration with FAA customers is expected.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:       

  • Developing and maintaining systems architecture artifacts including, but not limited to, current state architecture, system characterization or target state architecture, architectural roadmaps, and referential architecture patterns.
  • Developing and maintaining an architecture that incorporates considerations for re-configurability, portability, maintainability, technology insertion, vendor independence, reusability, scalability, interoperability, upgradeability, and long-term supportability;
  • Documentation of requirements, alternatives, recommendations, specifications, configuration changes, test scenarios and test results.
  • Performing comprehensive analysis and support formulation of software concepts, designs patterns, and test requirements for system validation and creation of web services that align with industry best practices (e.g., microservices, zero trust, DevSecOps, etc.);
  • Supporting the development of an Enterprise-wide Security Architecture;
  • Supporting the design of a security model based on current policies;
  • Supporting conducting an architecture risk assessment;
  • Supporting the design of a security architecture and services;
  • Supporting the evaluation and implementation of the NIST CyberSecurity Framework;
  • Conducting an analysis of security services (Infrastructure, application, Identity) of existing and planned Cloud infrastructures (IaaS, PaaS) provided by the Cloud Service Provider (CSP), third party providers, and in-house capabilities and identify gaps in security services. Providing recommendations on where service responsibility should reside;
  • Agile software development including software testing utilizing the Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM)
  • Provide Tier 3 support for applications
  • Providing support for Security Compliance/Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) activities;

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Technology or other IT degree, Engineering, Math and/or science and 5 years’ relevant experience; or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • US. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance prior to start
  • 5 years’ experience in agile software development utilizing Java, Tomcat, Spring framework, MS SQL, Oracle, MariaDB, Nod.js, Angular, React, microservices
  • 2 years’ experience supporting and maintaining COTS products including security updates
  • 2 years’ experience utilizing configuration management and ticketing tools such as Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow and BitBucket.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Technology or other IT degree, Engineering, Math and/or science and 6 years’ relevant experience, Master's degree and 4 years’ relevant experience; or high school diploma/equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience supporting FAA systems
  • Information Technology (IT) certification or equivalent certification (Required within 12 months of hire.)
  • Experience in AWS, Azure, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (Paas) and/or Software as a Service (Saas)
  • Experience with system architecture design and documentation
  • Experience with Index and Transaction Server, Java Script, Cold Fusion, ActiveX, HTML, CSS, XML, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Crystal Reports.
  • Proficient in analysis activities and capable of applying theoretical body of knowledge, including the ability to apply a variety of standard and advanced analytical techniques and tools.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
