Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PeopleSoft System Administrator to join our team. This position will require the candidate to work closely with government customers, contractor Project Lead, Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Application Vendor, and Application End Users. The candidate must have experience in system monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, and security. The role demands an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while adhering to customer requirements and timelines.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with government customers, contractor Project Lead, ISSO, Application Vendor, and Application End Users.
  • Perform daily system monitoring and monthly patching tasks.
  • Troubleshoot network and application performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to system issues by troubleshooting and resolving them through a ticketing tracking system. In certain circumstances, report to customer location during off-hours for issue resolution.
  • Deploy software patches on a monthly basis during off-hours at the customer location.
  • Implement system hardening and security through the application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and patching.
  • Provide support and maintenance for Oracle database environments on Windows and CentOS servers.
  • Create or update documentation related to system operations and processes, ensuring clarity and simplicity.

Create/Revise Documentation Including:

  • Daily Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Security Test Procedures (STP) based on Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM)
  • System Install Procedures (SIP)
  • System Administration Guide (SAG)
  • System User Manual (SUM)
  • Interface Control Document (ICD)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph (or ability to obtain SCI and pass polygraph).

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s + 8 years relevant experience OR a Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Certification: Active Security+ (DoD 8570 IAT Level II).

  • System Admin: Relevant experience would be installing, configuring, and maintaining systems per project specs.

  • PeopleSoft:

    • Hands-on admin experience with HCM 9.2, PeopleTools 8.59+, in 3-tier setups.

    • Skilled in:

      • Linux/Windows hosting

      • Oracle DBs

      • SQL tuning

      • WebLogic, Tuxedo, Integration Broker

      • Change Assistant, App Designer, Data Mover

      • Load balancing, SSL cert management (including OpenSSL)

  • Security/Compliance: STIG implementation; patching and securing Oracle-based applications.

  • Scripting: PowerShell & custom scripts for monitoring and log mining.

  • OS: Windows Server 2019+ and RHEL 8+.

  • Cloud/Virtualization: AWS and VMware experience.

  • Other Skills:

    • Strong debugging/troubleshooting

    • Willingness for after-hours support (restarts, upgrades, patching)

    • Documentation of system operations

    • Performance monitoring with recommendations

    • Regular patching, IA validation, and change management

Desired Qualifications:

  • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks independently.

  • Meets SLA response times under high-priority situations.

  • Strong written/verbal communication.

  • Plans/schedules DB maintenance (patching, emergencies).

  • Supports multiple environments: Dev, Test, Prod.

  • Experience maintaining mission-specific/custom DBs with vendor/security updates.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
