Responsibilities

Peraton is actively seeking an experienced Business Development Director who will drive the expansion of our new business pipeline for the Intelligence Networks and Services (INS) Operating Unit, within the Intelligence Mission Solutions Business Unit. 

 

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Identify and qualify new business pursuits that align with Peraton’s market position, capabilities, and strategy.
  • Develop tailored market access strategies that take advantage of Peraton’s existing position and programs within the federal market.
  • Maintain strong business-to-business relationships that facilitate teaming decisions for opportunity pursuits.
  • Collaborate with program managers, executive leaders, and functional staff to support business development and capture/proposal efforts.
  • Lead corporate responses to customer-issued market surveys and requests for information.
  • Drive the company’s engagement with customer decision-makers and lead the company’s direct engagements with key Government stakeholders and senior executive service personnel.
  • Qualify and brief opportunities at milestones and facilitate progression through formal pursuit/bid gate reviews.
  • Report directly to the business unit growth lead to jointly develop market strategies, customer access/call plans, and identify pipeline opportunities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 16+ years of experience in the DoD/Intelligence Community contracting space
  • Minimum of eight years of program/portfolio management experience or eight years business development experience with responsibility for a relevant market or customer base (IC, DISA, OSD, DoD)
  • Ability to lead customer engagement with key customer seniors and contracting/acquisition officials, and experience developing quality presentation materials to support customer engagements.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience with the competitive federal bid and proposal process, including leading responses to DoD RFI/market surveys and federal Requests for Proposal (RFP)
  • Ability to rapidly transition from opportunity qualification into pursuit/capture phases for key pursuits; ability to develop and execute a capture plan that will be fully responsive to customer needs and fully compliant with RFP requirements.
  • Extensive industry contacts within the business community that is relevant to the DoD/IC customer.
  • Experience contributing to proposal color reviews for competitive federal opportunities valued at >$75M.
  • Experience supporting cost/price strategy for federal proposals, including development of appropriate labor rates, and integrating price-to-win analysis and competitive intelligence into bid pricing.
  • Active Top Secret clearance

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with support services communities and/or customers and its subordinate theater and Special Access Program (SAP) component command
  • Proven experience winning large, complex deals in excess of $250M.
  • Active TS/SCI

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
