Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Support Specialist to become part of Peraton’s Department of State (DOS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes.

Role:
The Senior Cyber Support Specialist will provide both remote and on-site technical support to ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of end-user workstations, servers, and network infrastructure. This role is responsible for administering user accounts, managing system access through Active Directory, and supporting system patching, monitoring, and maintenance activities. In this position, the specialist plays a critical role in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring compliance with security standards, and supporting ongoing IT operations.
You will:
- Manage equipment provisioning, maintain peripheral devices such as printers and plotters, and provide technical guidance to users both remotely and desk-side.
- Will assist with maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and oversee critical infrastructure environments such as server rooms and lab networks.
- Will regularly interface with senior-level management to provide operational updates and project briefings.
- You will provide hands-on support of VMware vSphere environments, proactive monitoring using enterprise tools, and maintaining SIEM visibility for server room network connections.
- By evaluating current IT services and identifying areas for enhancement, you will support the customer’s broader mission and evolving technical needs.
- Monitor, remediate, and report workstations, servers, and user accounts security compliance occurrences to system owners and users.
- Remotely and on-site administer user accounts, network rights, and access to systems via Active Directory.
- Assist with patching and management of systems remotely and on-site.
- Manage, provision, and distribute remote administrative laptops.
- Diagnose and resolve customer reported technical incidents, problems, and events.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, cybersecurity systems, workstations, servers, system hardware, software, and peripheral equipment in accordance with government customers’ standards.
- Provide status updates and briefs to senior-level management on IT projects and weekly operational tasks.
- Manage procurement of network printers and plotters toners, paper, and internal components.
- Deliver service restoration assistance involving the implementation of corrective action on known issues and escalating tasks to appropriate teams for support.
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to include the monitoring and management of Windows desktop, servers, and VMs configured in accordance with standards.
- Discover sensitive or vastly challenging IT problems and develop alternative methods of remediation.
- Administer and maintain a suite of enterprise proactive monitoring tools to monitor health and performance of cybersecurity tools, networks, and services.
- Provide technical guidance and support to users remotely and desk-side.
- Accurately input, monitor, and report daily tasks via ServiceNow for tracking purposes.
- Oversee on-site server room, production, and lab environments.
- Support the provisioning and maintenance of server room network connection via SIEM and monitoring tools.
- Monitor, support, and tune VDI infrastructure network issues and vSAN connection of lab environment via VMware vSphere.
- Supervise PDU’s within server room racks to aid in the prevention of potential breaker tripping and overloads.
- Facilitate the mission of the customer by evaluating the existing and future IT requirements and continuously expanding on the current services provided.
