Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Systems Engineer on site in San Diego, CA.

 

The person that fills this role will work alongside sailors and engineers to deliver Unmanned Systems capabilities to the fleet with NIWC PAC’s Unmanned Maritime Vehicles Laboratory.  The Systems Engineer will support the MK 18 Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) program.  MK 18 UUVs are deployed with expeditionary support equipment for transport, charging, and launch and recovery (L&R) from platforms of opportunity.  The systems that we work on get delivered to the fleet.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Work in a fast-paced team environment while overcoming obstacles and maintaining a positive attitude
  • Conform to Systems Engineering best practices (i.e. requirements development, preliminary design with trade-studies, critical design, first-article development, test-planning, refinement, production) and perform occasional at-sea field testing on small boats (predominately calm-water and for short time-periods)
  • Provide programmatic documentation in support of system such as S.O.P, Tech Manuals, ECP documentation
  • Interface with the war-fighter directly to gather feedback and take initiative on tasking and willingness to ask for help as needed

Qualifications

What you'll need:

 

  • Education:  BS/BA degree with 2 years of experience
  • Clearance:  active Secret clearance required  
  • Electronics background and/or prior military experience a plus
  • 1-year of demonstrated experience in managing engineering and design projects to include scope/requirements development, documentation, planning, scheduling, budgeting, monitoring, controlling, status reporting, drafting, editing, and presenting project related presentations
  • 1-year of experience in the development of engineering systems and processes including: operational requirements analysis, concept exploration and analysis, hardware development, test and evaluation planning and documentation, production, operational and logistics support analysis

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
