Responsibilities

NASA’s Sounding Rocket Operations Contract (NSROC) is a sub-orbital space flight program located at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility (WFF), a part of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). NSROC provides suborbital launch vehicles, payload development and field operations support to NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. The program enables the collection of Earth, Heliophysics and Astrophysics science. This position will require an individual to be able to work individually and work in a team environment. Applicant will be in the Production Planning group for sounding rocket missions. The NSROC Production Scheduler will develop and schedule planning and execution on the program.  

 

Production positions oversee the production process and schedule to meet on-time delivery of products. These positions are involved in identifying and addressing concerns that alter or impact the production schedule, creating and managing work-in-progress, partnering with design team for product development approval within cost parameters, and tracking milestones to meet established deadlines.

 

Responsibilities of the Position: 

 

  • Develops and maintains detailed schedules, production plans.
  • Reviews material requirements in accordance with the master production schedule.
  • Provides for products, proposal efforts and/or production processes.
  • Coordinates engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, material control, quality, and other departments to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting production schedules.
  • Provides input regarding problems such as scheduling problems, material shortages, design changes, and backlogs.
  • Releases and maintains all appropriate paperwork.
  • Responsible for being involved in identifying and addressing concerns that alter or impact the production schedule
  • Creating and managing work-in-progress, partnering with design team for product development approval within cost parameters, and
  • Track milestones to meet established deadlines.
  • Supports software team in development of shop management data tools.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience, in lieu of degree, high school and 9 years of experience.  
  • 5 years of production/scheduling experience
  • Proficient with Cost Point

Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a NASA PIV badge. 

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • NASA contract experience

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
