We are searching for an Opto-Mechanical Engineer for our Picatinny Arsenal, NJ location. Responsibilities will include:

  • Apply engineering techniques, principles, and precedents to evaluate/test military fire control systems 
  • Perform basic optical metrology including operating theodolites, autocollimators, free-space optical alignments, and boresight retention measurements
  • Plan and perform tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components
  • Organize, analyze, and prepare reports or presentations of technical data and information
  • Participate in and support multiple government Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) teleconferences, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and Program Reviews, as required

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical design and analysis using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically PTC CREO
  • Experience performing the measurement, verification, and validation of small arms pyroshock simulation systems for fire control and optical systems exposed to pyroshock environments
  • Experience performing optical laboratory analysis and testing of direct view, non-linear, electro-optical, and laser-based systems
  • Extensive knowledge of fire control principles/functions/equations, fire control equipment (e.g., aids, instruments and systems), applications and scenarios for direct-fire armament systems
  • Working knowledge of numerical/graphical programming environments including MATLAB and LabView
  • Experience in identifying test data requirements, data collection methods and data integrity techniques
  • Experience obtaining and reducing data in preparation for analysis, real-time quick-look briefings and formal test reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparation of design documentation
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Visio)
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred; ability to obtain Secret Clearance required
  • US Citizenship
  • Desire and ability to operate in a team environment is required

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
