Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an IT Analyst with Linux experience to work onsite at a customer datacenter location near Atlantic City Airport, NJ and will be primarily responsible for supporting a team working on systems for the Federal Aviation Administration. Prior FAA experience is highly desirable.  Must be a self-starter, taking the initiative in troubleshooting and problem-solving issues as they arise.  Direct collaboration with FAA customers is required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:                   

  • Information technology services in facilities planning, operations and support.
  • Storage systems analysis, design/test, and administration.
  • Server system analysis, design/test and administration.
  • Network engineering and administration.
  • User support planning, operations and administration.
  • Support of databases, website/web application services.
  • Supporting pre and final production readiness activities.
  • Related IT systems functions.
  • Providing technical support responding to on-call alerts, helpdesk tickets and customer

Engagements

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining all operating systems including Linux RedHat and Microsoft Windows
  • Planning, balancing, and monitoring the environmental infrastructure;
  • Providing configuration and maintenance of load balancing appliance Internetwork
  • Cloud engineering, design/test and administration. This includes providing advisory assistance stemming from: Experience with migration of files to Azure storage and AWS Storage; Knowledge of Windows Group policy creation and review; Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipelines/Git repositories; Understanding of Active Directory and Azure Entra and/or future related technology; Understanding of Windows Distributed File System (DFS) and/or future related technology
  • Providing support for Security Compliance/Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) activities;
  • Understanding STIG settings for RedHat Linux and Windows based operating systems and addressing and mitigating STIG findings and all future operating systems;
  • Provisioning servers and services with the current Terraform/Ansible toolchain (and any future tools) both onPrem and within Cloud providers

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT management, and/or other IT degree (engineering, math, and science related degrees are considered acceptable alternative degrees) and 5 years’ relevant experience ; or Master's degree and 3 years’ relevant experience; or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Candidate must be located near the Atlantic City Airport- operational support is required on-site full time
  • US. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance prior to start
  • At least 2 years of AWS or Azure cloud experience including design, documentation, implementation, administration, automation and/or orchestration scripts
  • At least 3 years of experience administering servers with RedHat Linux or Microsoft Windows; VMWare, Network SAN Servers and FC Switches

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting FAA systems
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, documenting and maintaining the Storage Area Network (SAN), servers, Hyperconverged clusters, and appliance infrastructure architecture hosted internally or in the cloud (including Isilon, VXRails, Nutanix, Data Domain, Avamar and Unity based storage);
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining storage arrays, FC switches, and hosts on the SAN and Network Attached Storage (NAS) infrastructure;
  • Running reports and health checks (includes knowledge of scripting technologies (ie. Powershell and/or Python) to assist with checks and scripting capability to build and execute tasks);
  • Operating Systems (IOSs) (including Cloud and OnPrem load balancing solutions; the current onPrem solution is F5);
  • Performing administrative duties involving backup platforms. Based on Data Center policies, maintaining a backup of servers along with restoration of files requested by a customer (the current FAA solution is Avamar and Cloud Native based solutions (Azure and AWS)), and the capability to investigate and evaluate future backup solutions;
  • Providing support for network hardware/software, vulnerability, service pack, and security bulletins for applicability of FAA IT Services supported devices;

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
