This is your opportunity to bring engineering excellence, digital innovation, and strategic thinking to one of the most critical missions in national security. Join a team focused on elevating FM’s digital capabilities, optimizing workflows, and modernizing systems through world-class systems engineering practices.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our Systems Engineering team, you will:

  • Modernize Processes: Lead business process re-engineering activities, modeling end-to-end workflows and identifying improvement opportunities.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Partnering with enterprise engineering teams (Architecture, Requirements, Configuration Management, and more) to introduce systems engineering rigor, tools, and governance to FM.

  • Capturing and baselining FM requirements (e.g., data, dashboards, reports) and architecture (systems, interfaces).

  • Leading enterprise coordination for Requests for Change (RFCs) to formalize FM baselines.

  • Supporting the design and documentation of the To-Be FM architecture and roadmap, including authoring Solution Epics and developing modernization schedules.

  • Creating FM use cases and mission threads to drive future-state architecture.

  • Supporting FM risk management and mitigation planning related to architecture transformation.

  • Collaborating with FM teams and Data SMEs to enhance FM data architecture, data flows, and ontology development.

  • Ensuring alignment with NGA’s Chief Data Office and enterprise data governance practices.

  • Participating in Agile Digital Engineering PI Planning and technical exchange meetings (TEMs).

What You’ll Gain

  • Skill Development: Expand your expertise in systems engineering, architecture, business process modeling, and financial data ontology.

  • Mission Impact: Play a direct role in shaping the digital future of government financial systems.

  • Exposure: Work closely with senior engineers, architects, financial managers, and data strategists across the NGA enterprise.

  • Tools of the Trade: Gain hands-on experience with best-in-class tools like Jira, Confluence, Cameo, DOORS Next Gen, Baseline Management System, and ServiceNow.
