Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Software Development Engineer. In this role the candidate will be responsible for the following (but not limited too):

 

  • Software Configuration Management & Release Engineering skills to include;
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products.
  • Prioritizes and allocates projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers.
  • Preparing forms, and reports for production releases is in line with designing management documentation and maintaining compliance records.
  • Working on audit reports and submitting findings matches the role of tracking and reporting software performance and configuration standards.
  • Build Procedures & Development Support activities
    including the merging test environments and working on pre/post release activities connects to build procedures supporting software product development.
  • Deploying patches, upgrading environments, and creating release/change requests align with configuration management and release engineering tasks.
  • Participates in the strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of the software products.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a multi-team or cross-functional organization. Directs software development projects to include, ensuring that projects are completed on time and according to quality standards, facilitating communication upward and across project team including project status, justifications for variances and technical information.
  • Organizes projects through development of a project plan which includes communication of product goals as defined by top management, definition of project strategy, identification of the roles and responsibilities of key project groups, development of a schedule with key milestones, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of project resources.
  • Monitors technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years in lieu of degree
  • Must be a U.S citizen
  • Able to obtain Public Trust clearance
  • Experience with deploying patches, upgrading environments, and creating release/change requests align with configuration management and release engineering tasks.
  • Experience with preparing forms, and reports for production releases

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
