Responsibilities

Position Overview - The Out of Area Successor Planning Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive continuity plans specifically focused on out of area successors. This position ensures seamless leadership continuity during continuity events by coordinating with designated successors and ensuring operational readiness for geographically dispersed leadership transition. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed succession plans for out-of-area leadership positions. Ensure plans align with federal continuity policies and customer regulations. Create and update SOPs for successor activation and transition.  
  • Serve as primary POC for designated out-of-area successors. Conduct regular briefings and updates with successors to discuss roles and responsibilities. Coordinate successor participation in exercises and training events. Manage logistical and administrative support for successor activities. 
  • Work with IT/COMMs team to ensure reliable communication capabilities for successors. Develop and maintain communications protocols for successor activation. Ensure successors have appropriate access to systems and facilities. 
  • Work with exercise and training facilitator to design and conduct successor specific training programs. Develop exercise scenarios focused on out-of-area succession challenges. Facilitate after-action reviews and implement lessons learned.  
  • Maintain accurate, current documentation of successor plans and procedures. Prepare regular reports on successor readiness and program status. Develop briefing materials for leadership on successor program. Ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
  • This role supports senior leadership; working hours may vary depending on stakeholders locations/time zone; however, core hours for this role are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with relevant polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
  • 8+ years of IC professional experience to include at least 3 years of COOP experience and at least 3 years of experience with our client. 
  • Four (4) years of Military/Civilian, DoD/Government, or IC experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
