Peraton is seeking a dynamic Engineering Program Manager to lead a high-visibility program supporting critical IT infrastructure services. This individual will provide strategic direction, operational leadership, and technical oversight to ensure successful program execution and alignment with mission objectives.

 

This hybrid position is based in Springfield, VA, where your work will have a direct impact on national security initiatives. As the primary point of contact, you will be responsible for overseeing change management, release and configuration processes, testing, and ITSM tool administration ensuring compliance with policies, operational efficiency, and continuous service improvement.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day IT operations within the Engineering team.
  • Serve as a key liaison between technical teams, Peraton leadership, and stakeholders assuring alignment, transparency, and accountability.
  • Oversee and improve change, release, and configuration management processes to ensure operational continuity and compliance.
  • Direct and support testing efforts for system and software updates, hardware rollouts, and security patches.
  • Manage service-level agreements (SLAs), proactively addressing risks and ensuring delivery commitments are met.
  • Oversees and report performance metrics, dashboards, and status reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Drive long-term planning initiatives, monitor project status, and validate O&M processes and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations, improve process efficiency, and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to strengthen business execution and organizational culture.
  • Act as deputy to the director and represent the program in high-level meetings when needed.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and regulations and apply them to continuously enhance IT operations and customer service.
  • Provide oversight and support for the customer’s testing and development environments, ensuring stability, functionality, and alignment with project goals.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customer interactions related to change management, addressing inquiries and ensuring policy adherence.
  • Identify, track, and resolve operational issues and stakeholder conflicts of moderate complexity; escalate unresolved matters to appropriate leadership when necessary.
  • Partner closely with the management team to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance-related functions are executed effectively, in accordance with industry best practices and customer standards.
  • Deliver timely and transparent communication to leadership regarding the status of active workstreams, emerging issues, and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience required.
  • Active Secret clearance is required to be considered.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain an EOD clearance. 
  • Proven experience in O&M program management.
  • Experience managing IT engineering teams, IT infrastructure and operations programs.
  • Proven experience leading full lifecycle IT projects (initial concept, planning, implementation and completion).
  • Possess an ITIL 4 Foundations certification (or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment).
  • Experienced with change management initiatives in complex IT environments.
  • Deep knowledge of release and configuration management best practices.
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise tools such as Remedy.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree preferred.    
  • PMP Certification.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starter.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
