Responsibilities

Peraton requires Configuration Managers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.  This position is located at Stuttgart, Germany (SOCAF) and requires TESA approval. 

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

 

Under the supervision of the Service Level Manager, the Configuration Manager (CM) must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge in establishing and maintaining the consistency of information regarding the design requirements, functional and physical attributes, and operational information of enterprise configuration items (CIs). The CM Must possess excellent interpersonal, business management, and customer service skills. The CM follows an IT service-based approach to manage, monitor, and update CM data in the CM Database (CMDB) and the CM Document Library (CMDL), including a logical service model of enterprise devices and their relationships by identifying, controlling, maintaining, and verifying installed hardware, software, and documentation. The CM verifies configuration records for accuracy and adherence to guidelines and defined service standards and corrects any exceptions as directed by the Government. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to:   

  • Maintaining CMDB/CMDL by developing, documenting, and driving related business processes
  • Entering, uploading, and maintaining configuration data into the CMBD
  • Interfacing and integrating with Asset, Change, Incident, and Problem Management functions, as well as Government property accountability stakeholders to continuously improve collaboration between these parties and to optimize CM functions
  • Establishing and maintaining process interfaces to Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Asset Management practices
  • Acting in an Asset Management role when required by the Government or supervisor
  • Advising the Government and support their effort to ensure effective accountability, distribution, availability, and documentation of assets and consumable materials
  • Tracking build documents, baselines, and enforce authorization controls
  • Drafting a CM Plan within 90 days of role assignment
  • Supporting incident or asset traceability for faster resolution of incidents or asset loss
  • Providing full hardware and software license asset lifecycle visibility, including analysis, forecasting, developing procurement inputs, and recommending actions to reconcile or reclaim assets when appropriate
  • Participating in asset lifecycle events as a subject matter expert
  • Engaging with Enterprise Configuration Management to establish mapping to authoritative build documentation, as it relates to SOCAFRICA assets in order to improve change control and minimize misconfiguration risk
  • Recommending and implementing methodologies for monitoring configuration drift in the CMDB, as well as other configuration platforms, to proactively identify unexpected changes
  • Evaluating baseline deviations or drift and make recommendations for rectifying the unexpected change, as well as the underlying cause
  • Recommending and executing appropriate authorization controls for modifying configuration of common devices and key services, often in conjunction with the Change Review Board (CRB)
  • Recommending and executing procedures for verifying the accuracy of configuration items, adherence to the CM process, and identifying process deficiencies
  • Providing CM Reports that are compliant with USSOCOM policies, procedures, regulations, and directives
  • Providing reporting artifacts as requested by the Government or PMO to demonstrate successful contractual performance
  • Developing and implementing methods to monitor and manage licensed software assets in order to provide accurate budgeting and cost control
  • Crafting professional-level documentation articulating CM functions and processes covering all duties outlined above

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years with AS/AA; 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD, 12 years of experience with H.S 
  • Candidate must meet TESA requirements 
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance is required for this role
  • At least one year of experience as a Configuration or Asset Manager in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
