This person will work closely with developers, QA engineers, and IT operations to ensure timely, secure, and well-documented software releases.

This position requires hands-on experience with software configuration management, release planning, CI/CD processes, and system troubleshooting in complex IT environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and experienced in leading enterprise-level release operations in classified environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the release lifecycle—from development turnover through QA and production release.

  • Create, maintain, and enforce branch management policies within the code repository; manage development and release branches.

  • Review system, machine, and error logs to proactively identify and resolve issues.

  • Support off-hours software releases and provide real-time status updates to stakeholders.

  • Enforce release readiness by validating turnover packages, documentation, and code deliverables.

  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of configuration management (CM) policies and release best practices.

  • Serve as the central point of contact for all release-related communications and schedules.

  • Maintain documentation and release notes, and notify all relevant teams of changes and timelines.

  • Perform light debugging and direct automation failures to the appropriate teams.

  • Support IT infrastructure, lab environments, and release hardware/software configurations.

  • Understand and contribute to all phases of the SDLC in secure enterprise environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

  • Technical Experience:

    • Proven experience in a release management role supporting enterprise IT systems

    • Strong background in software configuration management, automation, CI/CD, and version control

    • Demonstrated experience planning and scheduling roll-outs, patches, maintenance, and full production releases

    • Familiarity with infrastructure configuration, networking, distributed systems, and multithreaded environments

    • Hands-on understanding of lab and IT infrastructure, hardware/software setup, and system troubleshooting
