Job Summary:


We're seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer Advisor to spearhead AI-powered workload automation initiatives and inspire a high-performing team. The ideal candidate blends deep technical expertise with proven leadership experience and is looking to take the next step as a Database Engineering Advisor.

 

This is a 100% Remote position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and optimization of advanced database solutions supporting AI-driven workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to architect scalable, secure, and high-performing data infrastructure.
  • Guide a team of engineers in developing data pipelines using tools like SSIS, SSRS, and SSDT.
  • Review, refine, and standardize SQL code and stored procedures to enhance performance and maintainability.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions using ERDs, data flow diagrams, and agile methodologies.
  • Champion continuous learning, mentoring peers in SQL, cloud integration, DevOps, and modern database architectures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • US. Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a T5/SSBI federally adjudicated clearance
  • Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL, and stored procedure optimization
  • Experience leading engineering teams with a focus on collaboration and delivery excellence
  • Hands-on expertise in Visual Studio, SSDT, Git-based version control (GitKraken, Azure DevOps), and ETL tools
  • Familiarity with report development in Power BI, SSRS, and foundational understanding of Tableau
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and relational/non-relational database systems (e.g. Redis, MongoDB, Snowflake)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, data warehousing, and cloud-native architectures
  • Polished oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose, tailor, and deliver original presentations and papers on abstract concepts
  • Develops and employs strategies to analyze key issues, draw conclusions from data, and recommend viable solutions to address customer mission needs

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to AI/ML tools and integration of data pipelines with AI models
  • Knowledge of GraphQL, SSAS, and data orchestration tools
  • Enthusiasm for knowledge-sharing, team development, and data governance best practices

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Sciences, Computer Science, or related field

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
