Responsibilities

Peraton is actively seeking a Systems Engineer to support and enhance services provided by Datarunner. This engineer will play a key role in the ongoing integration of Datarunner rules into both test and production dataflows. Responsibilities include managing high-level requirements, developing effective solutions, and contributing to the evolution of mission-critical systems.

The role involves supporting the incorporation of new data types and sources, transitioning legacy formats to modern standards, and driving high-level dataflow design and rule development. The engineer will also collaborate with the corporate Data Distribution Service to ensure efficient and secure data handling across systems.

  • Proven experience with mission systems

  • Hands-on expertise with Datarunner

  • Skilled in transferring and decommissioning legacy systems

  • Familiarity with mission data formats

  • Proficient in reviewing, processing, or drafting Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs)

  • Experience with Apache NiFi and building custom dataflows is strongly desired

  • Ability to manage and translate analytical needs into actionable requirements

  • Capable of creating detailed systems architecture diagrams outlining software and system interactions

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently

Qualifications

  • Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 
    Five(5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
