Position: SRE / Splunk Administrator

Peraton is seeking a talented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Splunk Administrator to support a high-impact, mission-critical program within our Cyber Mission Business Unit. This role is based in Annapolis Junction, MD, and plays a key part in maintaining, modernizing, and scaling enterprise-grade cybersecurity infrastructure.
As a Splunk Administrator, you will take ownership of the stability, performance, and evolution of a large-scale Splunk environment that directly supports national security operations.
Administer and maintain the existing Splunk infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability across the enterprise.
Support and optimize Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) capabilities to meet mission-critical cybersecurity needs.
Apply patches, perform upgrades, and maintain system integrity and security compliance.
Troubleshoot complex system and log issues and collaborate effectively across government and contractor teams in a high-visibility environment.
Oversee full-stack Splunk deployments, including both operating system and application-level configurations.
Lead the design and deployment of a new, modernized Splunk instance to replace an existing system—improving performance, scalability, and usability.
Analyze system and data requirements to shape architecture and ingestion strategies.
Design and size scalable, resilient Splunk architectures tailored to mission needs.
Develop and implement robust data ingestion pipelines, parsers, and configurations.
Perform data modeling and normalization for security and performance efficiency.
Build meaningful, actionable dashboards and alerts that provide operational and security insights.
Drive the development of custom solutions and automation for continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:
Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.
A minimum of ten years of experience in systems engineering on programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
A Master’s degree in a technical field may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Note: Degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar disciplines qualify as technical fields.
