Responsibilities

Overview:
The Senior Systems Engineer provides expert-level guidance and leadership to engineering teams across multiple disciplines within the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and supporting Federal Agencies. This role focuses on the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution development, system integration, testing, and sustainment, to ensure the timely delivery of accurate GEOINT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor Mid- and Junior-level Systems Engineers in all aspects of systems engineering, including requirements analysis, solution design, integration, testing, maintainability, and operational analysis.

  • Provide technical leadership in the planning and traceability of user requirements, architecture development, and the evaluation of procedures and cloud service capabilities to improve or automate existing systems.

  • Guide teams in designing solutions informed by requirements analysis and emerging technologies.

  • Support the Government in capturing and translating mission and customer needs into actionable systems requirements and capability solutions.

  • Perform analysis and allocation of requirements to various architectural components and support implementation across executing programs.

  • Conduct systems integration and interoperability assessments across diverse platforms and environments.

  • Lead and conduct technical evaluations, including Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Courses of Action (CoA), trade studies, and engineering assessments to inform decision-making.

  • Assist in strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk assessment, and interface design.

  • Operate at an enterprise level, integrating systems, services, and processes across major system acquisition programs and organizational boundaries.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field. Equivalent additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 12+ years of experience in government or industry supporting one or more of the following:

    • Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) Acquisition Processes

    • Requirements Development Processes

    • Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES)

    • Systems engineering of large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) in cloud, on-premise, or hybrid environments

  • In-depth understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycle.

  • Experience with Hyperspectral Imagery.

  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including relevant tools, methodologies, and modeling languages.

  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering practices and associated tools.

  • Prior experience supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) or working on NSG/ASG-related programs.

  • Prior experience supporting programs or projects within the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD).

  • Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI access and pass a polygraph examination.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
